To parse the messages you can select the appropriate dbc file (tesla_modelsx.dbc from Model S/X or Josh Wardell's tesla_model3y.dbc for Model 3/Y). Please note that Cabana only works inside Google Chrome.

Once you are done reading messages, you will have to make sure you power cycle the Relay to return to normal functionality. The cabana switches the standard functionality of Relay and puts it into a read only mode. The power cycle restored the basic functionality. To power cycle your Relay you have to disconnect both from the harness and from the computer (USB).

Flashing Tinkla Relay Firmware

Sometimes there is a need to update your Tinkla Relay firmware to take advantage of new code releases. In order to do this, you will need access to a computer with internet access and a Chromium based web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Chromium), and a USB cable to connect from your computer to the micro-USB port on the Tinkla Relay.

Virtual Buttons

Tinkla Relay creates up to 4 virtual buttons in order to control the relay outputs. These virtual buttons are combinations of quick double presses on existing steering wheel controls. Depending on the configuration selected via the DIP Switches, these virtual buttons can act alone or in combination with other logic based on car state.

In the table below we show the connection between a virtual button and the corresponding steering wheel button. In order to switch the state of the relay for that corresponding button, the user will have to double-press that particular steering wheel button quickly with no more than 0.75 s between presses.

DIP Switches

Switches 1-4 allows you to select one of the pre-configured logic that triggers the 4 relays to turn on or off.

Switch 5 is an overall setting for all 4 relays and, if on, will keep the relays in their state even when car is off. If Switch 6 is off then all relays will be turned off when the car is off.

Switch 6 enables Tesla AutoPilot Extended Functionality. Please see more info above.
Switches 7 and 8 are for future use and should be always kept in the OFF position to avoid device malfunction.
