Bringing the power of Comma AI's OpenPilot to Tesla Mode S/X cars.

OpenPilot is open source software built to improve upon the existing driver assistance in most new cars on the road today. Now OpenPilot is available for pre-autopilot Tesla Model S as well as Tesla Model S/X with autopilot hardware 1 or 2. Continue reading to fully understand capabilities and limitations.

What is OpenPilot?

openpilot is an open source driver assistance system. Currently, openpilot performs the functions of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automated Lane Centering (ALC), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) for a growing variety of supported car makes, models and model years. In addition, while openpilot is engaged, a camera based Driver Monitoring (DM) feature alerts distracted and asleep drivers. See more about the vehicle integration and limitations.

What you need to run OpenPilot

Comma C2 or C3

Install the Comma C2 or C3 device in your windshiel, behind the rear-view mirror.
Car Adapter

Connect the Comma device to your Tesla car using our Tinkla OBD-C (for preAP Tesla cars) or using a specific harness for your Tesla Model S/X with AP.
Configure options

Configure (via the device UI) the options that you want to enable or disable.
Go for a drive

And that's all. Now your car is ready to take you arround for a spin. Make sure you read about all the features and how to engage them before you do so.

OpenPilot for Tesla

For preAP Tesla Model S

Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Lane Change, Forward Collision Warning, Limitted Adaptive Cruise Control (Regen braking only). Future features: slow down at stop lights and stop signs, navigate on maps.
For AP1 Tesla Model S

Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Lane Change, Forward Collision Warning, Full Stop-n-Go. Future features: stop at stop lights and stop signs, navigate on maps.
For AP1 Tesla Model X

Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Lane Change, Forward Collision Warning, Full Stop-n-Go. Future features: stop at stop lights and stop signs, navigate on maps.
For AP2 Tesla Model S/X

Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Lane Change, Forward Collision Warning, Full Stop-n-Go. Future features: stop at stop lights and stop signs, navigate on maps.
